“My last photo taken in space- after 199.5 days in space I wanted to capture one more great sunset. After I saw the image on the camera’s preview screen I knew that I’d never take a better photo, so I downlinked the photo and went down the our Soyuz spacecraft and flew back to Earth a few hours later!” - @astro_terry

Capt. Denomy, like the rest of the #LongRoadHome soldiers, didn't realize how dangeous this mission would be. His story continues at 10/9c.

Today is a special day! National Geographic sent a special package on a trip to space!
.
What is it? National Geographic is sending a Virtual Reality camera to the Space Station to document what life above Earth is like. The camera, the VUZE from HumanEyes, will provide a 3D 360 view from inside the Space Station. ESA Astronaut Palo Nespoli will be our VR director and cameraman, using it to tour the various modules, show the famous copula view of Earth, and give viewers a sense of what it’s like to live on-board. Over the course of filming, Paolo will be working with ground control to downlink footage back to Earth where it will be incorporated into a VR short film that will be accompanying the premiere of “One Strange Rock” in 2018. #OSR
